Bollywood star Irrfan Khan tonight walked the ramp for designer Meera Ali for her solo ready-to-wear line of Kotwara collection at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

The 49-year-old actor, who wore a black and grey bandhgala teamed up with a green muffler, walked confidently on the runway. He also shook a leg with the models in the end.

"I am honoured to be part of Meera's collection.

I was just mesmerised by the whole concept of the designs. I was happy while walking on the ramp with the models. I enjoyed it completely. Meera designed this attire after seeing my look in 'Paan Singh Tomar'," Irrfan said. The actor remarked that Indian women look best in saree.

"I think Indian women look best in sarees. Actresses of yesteryears used to wear a lot of sarees, but the present ones don't prefer drapes so much," he added. Meera's innovative autumn-winter collection has been designed with inputs from her daughter Sama Ali.

The designs highlighted the femininity and confidence of today's women in its technique and theme. An amalgamation of structure and flowing lines, the range comprised bamboo shoot patterns, breeches, coats, skirts and ivory shirts made of wool, suede, chiffon, bamberg crepe and sequin fabrics.

The colour palette ranged from black, blue, grey and brown to burgundy and emerald green. "I definitely want my daughter to enter the fashion industry. This collection has inputs from her. This is a very contemporary ready-to-wear Kotwara collection.

The designs highlighted the femininity and confidence of today's women. The price range is between Rs 5,000 and Rs 25,000," Meera said. Her husband noted filmmaker-poet Muzaffar Ali cheered the designer from the sidelines.
